Croatian-language Hispanic studies literature lacks a lexicon of the most important —often untranslatable— terms from the theory and history of literature, history (political and social), art history, cinema and other fields. Unifying and systematising Croatian Hispanic terminology is an important contribution to Croatian Hispanic studies and to the quality of Hispanic programmes in Croatia.
Methodology
- Review and analysis of Croatian-language Hispanic studies literature.
- Creation of a corpus of terms by semantic fields, with examples of use.
- Lexicographic treatment: lemmatisation, definitions, examples, equivalents in Iberian and other languages.
- Preparation and publication of the lexicon in print.
- Digitisation and open-access publication.
Objectives
- Compile a corpus of the most relevant terms of Hispanic studies (zarzuela, silva, redondilla, encomienda, mudéjar, zambo, converso, etc.).
- Treat the terms in the form of encyclopaedic entries.
- Propose appropriate Croatian equivalents where possible.
- Publish the lexicographic reference in print and digital form.
