Lexicographic tools
of the University of Zadar

The main aim of the project is to develop a searchable, publicly accessible digital repository of the lexicographic tools produced at the University of Zadar. The repository will serve as a basis for further research in lexicology and lexicography, for the teaching of foreign languages —with particular attention to Croatian as a second and heritage language— as well as for contrastive studies and translation.

It also provides teaching material for philological studies at the University of Zadar and contributes actively to the preservation of linguistic and cultural heritage. The theoretical foundation of the project combines the metalexicographic specificities of each tool —lexicon, usage dictionary, phraseological dictionary, specialised dictionary, oral corpus— with the principles of the information sciences applied to the digitisation of heritage.
